Material Metering: For metering powdery materials, screw metering is commonly used. Metering is achieved by the number of screw rotations. To improve metering accuracy, the screw speed must be adjustable and the position accurate. Using an AC servo motor to drive the screw leverages the high control precision and good torque-frequency characteristics of AC servo motors to achieve fast and accurate metering. For metering viscous materials, an AC servo motor can drive a gear pump, with metering achieved through the meshing of a pair of gears in the gear pump.
Horizontal Sealing Device: In automatic bag-making packaging machinery, the horizontal sealing device is a crucial mechanism. It requires not only accurate positioning but also that the linear velocity of the horizontal sealing rollers equals the film feeding speed during horizontal sealing. Furthermore, after the horizontal sealing rollers roll against each other, their speed should increase to allow for rapid separation.
Traditional methods use eccentric wheels or crank-guide rod mechanisms, which are complex, unreliable, and cumbersome to adjust. If an AC servo motor is used to drive the horizontal sealing wheel, its excellent motion performance can be utilized to meet the requirements of horizontal sealing through its non-constant speed movement, improving work quality and efficiency.
Material Feeding: Packaging machinery operates in two modes of material feeding: intermittent and continuous.
In intermittent material feeding, such as on intermittent bag-making and packaging machines, the feeding of packaging film previously often used a crank-connecting rod mechanism for intermittent belt pulling, which was not only structurally complex but also difficult to adjust. If an AC servo motor is used to drive the belt pulley, the distance, time, and pause time of each run of the AC servo motor can be preset in the controller.
Utilizing the excellent acceleration and positioning performance of the AC servo motor, the length of the fed film can be accurately controlled. Especially in control systems with color mark correction devices, the deviation signal detected by the color mark detection switch is transmitted to the AC servo motor via the controller. The excellent acceleration performance and control precision of the AC servo motor allow for rapid and accurate correction of deviations.
In continuous material feeding, the excellent acceleration performance and overload capacity of the AC servo motor ensure continuous and uniform material feeding.
