Without the need for a gearbox or mechanical speed reducer, the Permanent Magnet Low Speed Synchronous Motor is a specialized electric motor that produces direct, low-speed, high-torque rotation. Compared to conventional high-speed motors and gearboxes, it constitutes a paradigm leap. PM LSMs are designed to run in the 0-500 RPM range (usually at 50-200 RPM) straight from the electrical supply, in contrast to regular motors that normally work at 750-3000+ RPM.
